I got the Slim 5 recently and have been loving it, but I got it under the assumption that I'd use a dock anyway, especially since I'll only really be using it a lot on the go. I also wasn't originally going for a gaming laptop, but the $800 discounted price tag on Best Buy was hard to pass up.

Im on budget as an Industrial Designer student, my options are MSI cyborg or a Legion 5 (not pro,slim or 5i just 5) ryzen 7 rtx 4060 or an acer predator triton 14 rtx 4050 (mainly because the aesthetic) pls help me out, these are the ones that stick to my budget considering the prices at my country.

My Omen was much cheaper at $1780, purchasing directly from HP. Their extended warranties are cheaper as well. It was on sale and they gave me a miltary discount. I took the cheaper unit as I will use for surfing, movies, MS Office, and light gaming.

Honestly, what a great review. I adore the look and feel of the Omen, I cant get enough of it. I also enjoy the performs well. Best of all I was able to get this 4060 model open box for $1050.00, super stoked about it. Ended up popping a 4tb into this thing

So even though the graphics are integrated on the 7i, it’s still OK to do video editing?

I found Legion 5 with ryzen 7 and rtx 4060 on sale, but not sure how different is from pro, 5i or slim, anyone knows?

I purchased this but really did not like the track pad. For the price they charge for this laptop, I expect a haptic track pad no questions asked. The clicks were so loud and felt really cheap. Had to immediately return it.

The problem is the 84 model of the X Elite is priced competitively with the MBP 14 M3 Pro.

The mini led in this laptop is both amazing… and bad. It is by the brightest screen I’ve ever seen in a laptop . It’s like almost 700 nits in sdr (not sure where he got that 400 nits in the video) and 1200 on hdr . In sdr mode it uses single zone dimming . There’s no blooming at all . In hdr the contrast ratio just goes up by a million . The blacks are imho almost pitch black . Very oled like . But the blooming is baaaaad. I only use hdr mode in things that officially support it like UA-cam or movies . Don’t bother with auto hdr. Even in sdr single zone dimming the screen is like A+

I'm confused by your comment about this being an IPS display. It seems most of these, including the standard 4060 version usually available at Lenovo and Best Buy are Mini-LED displays.

How does this compare with ASUS Zephyrus G16 in terms of build quality, speakers, and fan noise? They both have a 4070 option, and they are both thin and light. The Yoga Pro has a MiniLED option with a higher brightness and resolution, but less vivid colors than the OLED in G16. Yoga Pro has a numpad with Home/End/PgUp/PgDwn keys at convenient positions, whereas G14 has a centered keyboard and touchpad without a numpad.

Hello Folks, just a tip I learned before Best Buy pulled the plug on the Memorial Day deals. The 4050 version does not come with the mini LED, so you'll have to pony up the extra $200 for the better screen on the 4060 model.

Last week purchased a 2023 slim prob 9i (i9+4050+32RAM+MiniLED) for only $850 before tax through Lenovo eBay store. can’t be more excited. It is refurbished but when I received it is like brand new, only 7 battery recycles.

I had a Lenovo notebook that could do this with whatever you installed their app. Previous to Apple Side Car.

"under 2000 dollars", its funny and interesting how people in NA look at the price "before tax" when this is never the reality of a price. In Europe, most countries sit around 20% VAT and prices are always shown with VAT included since thats what goes out of your wallet at the end of the day. I ordered this laptop and returned it, mostly because it was too expensive. Without an OS, 32GB, RTX 4060 and CU9, it came to about 2070 euros with a student discount of 9 or 10%. I think the original price was about 2300~ euros. Anyway, thanks for the video.

See alot of people mentioning the 16gb of ram. Almost all Intel and AMD laptops at the retail level come with 16gb of ram. You can spec these up but the whole thing here is the chipset. This isnt a Intel or AMD chip that will require a ton of RAM to do things. Anyone that has used a high end smartphone with 12-16 ram will tell you it is plenty. I have had a Galaxy phone with 12gb of ram for years and its still more than sufficient. These are pretty much high powered cell phones, running Windows. All the benefits of having great battery life, low heat, killer displays, light weight, etc of a cell phone in a laptop package. These will make "normal" PC laptops seem very antiquated. Not having to plug your laptop in after half a day or less of use, or in some instances tethered to the wall most of the day, a thing of the past. Also be nice to have a laptop that you can use on your Lap instead of something in your lap that doubles as a Hamburger Grill after using it for less than an hour.

Bro stop opening/closing the lid on the edge. Ur one of them people wherein they do that type of sht several times in a year and then when the hinge finally gives out because of that, you'll blame the laptop and the company.

This video is over a year old now...but I picked up a refurbished 16" of this computer recently for about $1,500 and I'm thrilled with it. I already own (and freaking love) a MacBook Pro...so I just wanted something to game with. lol this laptops is nothing more than a toy for me (just got an awesome new job that pays really well!). It's got an i9 processor and the rtx 4080. I've only played a few games so far. First game I tried out was Forza Horizon 5. I maxed every single graphics option and ran it through the benchmark. I wasn't really expecting it to run all that well...but bloody hell, it was averaging about 93 frames per second! This has been the same experience for all the games I've tried so far and...yeah...it's awesome! I'm glad I jumped in at the price I paid! Sorry for my ramble here haha >.<'
